Daily Journal December 24, 1997, William Thomas Thompson. I know the story of Christmas and it means a lot to me. The Bible New Testament gives 4 accounts of the birth. A savior was born in Bethlehem and He is Christ the Lord. Many artists have painted about him, His life on earth and the mother and child figure. Most of this great art was painted by great artist of the 15th century forward in the tradition of Rome. Martin Luther started a revolution in 1517 A.D. condemning the doctrine of the ruling church. This is the protestant movement. This Wednesday morning our son-in-law Marc is in the hospital with a serious attach of asthma. The weather is dark raining and cold. I am meeting 2 men out at the bus, one to clean and one to mechanic. The rain is a flood making it hard, very hard to do the work needed on the bus to start it running. A lot of soap was put on the bus and the rain was washing it off. After half a day we got the engine running, a diesel automatic with the engine in the back end of the bus. After fixing some leaks and a number of screws turned we begin to back the bus out of the parking space. At this point the gears must be changed at the rear until the cable is fixed that runs under the bus to the back. The mechanic put the bus in forward gear and I drove it to the upper drive ready to take off for Greer but I thought I better let the mechanic drive it. The rain was heavy and fog was also heavy. I was told that the bus needed a fuel filter change and the motor then would pull well, that the transmission was good. However suddenly the bus would not move. This could be the fault of several safety devices like the air ride system that raises the entire bus up with air pressure after the engine is started. We let the bus roll backward to park it but it began to pull again. The driver said to me "shut my doe, I’m out of here" I followed in my car and the bus went fast as we were taking it to the shop for service but then slowed down. I could not see in front of him to see if he was being blocked by traffic or not. At one time he was doing only 9 mph up a hill. I prayed "Lord, help us to get this bus off the busy Christmas Eve road". The bus made it and I was happy. Psalms 24-4 "lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully” A world of things to do to prepare for Christmas. I avoid the crowd. I worked to fix my baskets of fruit. Our family meets tonight to exchange gifts in the music room after dinner in the second floor dinning room. It is a happy time. The house is lit up outside with floor lights. We can see the downtown lights. Luke 2-11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David” I see the Pope on NBC carrying the little Jesus hanging on his staff as he marches into the Sistine Chapel in Rome. This is live T.V. coming at midnight almost here. When they do mass they will recrucify Christ every time. This is wrong and I must tell the world the truth of the true God in Heaven. I must paint the Word of God and explain by art the true meaning of scripture. Savior, which is Christ the Lord" Thank you God for sending. So far my painting of the book of Revelation hanging has been well received by all people hungry for truth. Let truth be told. Two sections of flat roofs on the house and installing downspouts on both sections. I am happy to get these important areas fixed to be dry the right way and not continue to patch up leaks. A second floor shower was leaking for years and because it was seemingly impossible to access, we could only catch the water daily in the downstairs. Today we focused on this problem, first under the shower to pull out all the ceiling, then we found a hinged shelf in the next room kitchen that gave us access to all the pipes in the back of the shower but they were dry. Then I got into the shower on my hands and knees and discovered the grout was missing all around the shower base. This was not very visible when one was
